A preliminary report states that a Delta Air Lines plane involved in a Toronto accident in February descended too quickly (335 meters/minute versus a designed 220 meters/minute) upon landing, causing part of the landing gear to break. The accident, which injured 21, involved 76 passengers and four crew members. An alert sounded moments before the crash to warn of a high descent rate. The investigation is ongoing.
